Body By Vi Challenge Day 1

Today I am restarting the Body By Vi Challenge. I'd tried it before and couldn't get the mix to taste good. I tried mixing it with frozen fruit and with silk almond milk and it just wasn't working out for me. This time around I tried it with Silk chocolate milk and it was delicious. I don't know if it's just that I'm so ready to look good in my BFF's wedding or if it really does taste better now. I know the company brags about the fact that it taste like cake batter but who in the hell wants to drink cake batter twice a day? Oh well, I'm starting off just drinking one for breakfast, having a sensible lunch, and  a sensible dinner. Today for lunch I brought a Turkey sandwich (NO CHIPS) and a blueberry and granola yogurt. I'm hoping the breakfast shake with stop me from snacking at work. I'm also planning to exercise today! My goal is just 15 minutes. Wish me luck!

Random Thoughts

So I'm sitting here in my office trying to down my first official Body By Visuals shake. It's not very tasty but I may very well have mixed it wrong seeing as how I didn't follow any recipes I just threw some ice from Sonic, a hand full of blueberries, 2 scoops of shake and some almond Silk in the blender. Don't get me wrong, it's not the worse thing I've ever tasted it and I'm sure that once I get  used to it I'll love it - espeicailly if I see some results. It is true that it tastes like cake mix batter. A lot of the reviews I've seen view that is a good thing. I however and not so fond of cake mix batter that I can drink two cups of it a day and be happy about it. But of course, that's just me. On to other things - my aunt Lill passed away Monday after a very brave fight with pancreatic cancer. She was (and still is) my favorite aunt. I'm going to miss her. I won't go into details, but what I've learned is to never ever not tell ...
The Beginning…..Again First let me prelude this entry with the fact that I was sitting here getting ready to type and had titled this entry “The Beginning” . Then I thought it might be a good idea to check the titles of my other entries which is when I learned my very first entry was titled “The Beginning”. This tells me two things, 1. I’m nothing if not consistent with what I want the blog to be; 2. I’ve already started this once so I better stick to it this time. . Many of the things I will be monitoring on this blog are similar if not the same as those in the original blog post. My goal for 2012 and beyond is to become a DIVA; by my definition, not Webster’s. To me, a diva is a woman that basically has her shit together. She is excelling in her career, looks good, feels good and generally over all is GOOD. Yesterday I turned 32. I think it’s time for me to get it together don’t you? Anywho – just to recap; here are my 10 goals for 2012. My old goals are crossed out; ...

Latina's Personal Mission Statement

In preparation of the big 2012 I've created a personal mission statement (s/o to Franklin Covey). Because the point of this blog is to better myself (I've neglected both the blog and myself here lately) I'm going to share with you guys. This is what I'm working on in 2012 Latina’s Personal Mission Statement: §   I am at my best when things are in order and I have a clear direction. . §   I will try to prevent times when I am overwhelmed by the things I have to accomplish. . §   I will enjoy my work by finding employment where I am creative and expose those in often overlooked demographics to knowledge and skills that they are lacking. . §   I will find enjoyment in my personal life by surrounding myself with love ones and those who will provide positivity about my goals and accomplishments. . §   I will find opportunities to use my natural talents and gifts which are being a creative person with leadership and logical thinking skills. §   I c...

The Beginning....

Hopefully this blog post won't sound like the crazy ramblings of .....well, a crazy woman. But I feel like I need to blow some steam. Who am I angry with you ask? Myself. I have not been living the life that I want to live and for a long time (like forever) I placed the blame on other people. And while I can't deny that other people have definitely effed me over throughout the years, I'm growing and I can recognized that I am really the root of all evil in this diva's life. I am not ashamed to admit that this year I have suffered from a disturbing bout of depression. I've been more of a sulker and a dreamer than a doer which is not a part of my usually fabulous character. Since become a mother, I have created a yearly to-do list each year which has keep me somewhat focused and determined to accomplish goals. This year I was so depressed that I said bump it and let life control me. Now I know I know better than that. So with the end of 2011 fast approaching I'm...
