2015 - Where's the Reset Button!

OMG...If you 'follow' my blog then you know that I have a tendency to start over, fall on my face, sulk and start over again. Welp, guess where we are now. You got it, I'm about to start over again. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself in my head. I've procrastinated ALL of 2015 so far and it's about time I put my foot in my own ass and get it together. My first post of 2015 was scheduled to be about my 2015 goals list. I've been operating all year with absolutely NO goals. What's up with that girl?  So here's my list. Most of these revolve around my health because it's been a little out of control lately. I'm also keeping in mind that 1/3 of the year is gone bye bye.

  1.  LOSE WEIGHT (doctor's orders, blood pressure problems, diabetes scare, self esteem booster - yeah ALL THAT)
  2. Publish a book. (I wrote and now I gots to sell it)
  3. Build my Simply Unique brand.
  4. Re-Launch Diva's Connection
  5. 1 Family Vacation (just me and my boys)
  6. Raise Credit Score by 100 pts.
  7. MOVE (this apartment is entirely too small and even though I'm not ready to be a home owner I got to get the hell up out of here)
  8. Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Festival
  9. Blog better and more consistently
  10. Start YouTube Channel
Okay let's limit this to 10. I think I can do these before the year is over. I look forward to keep you guys updated on my progress.

What were your resolutions for 2015? Did you procrastinate? How far have you progressed?

Intermittent Fasting....Let's GO!

So I've been hearing a lot about Intermittent fasting lately and I'm officially ready to give it a try. Intermittent fasting is not a diet, but rather a dieting pattern. ... By fasting and then feasting on purpose, intermittent fasting generally means that you consume your calories during a specific window of the day, and choose not to eat food for a larger window of time. I am diabetic so I am going to do 9 hours of eating and 15 hours of fasting. I will post often on my progress. I've created 2 documents to help me plan. While most people say you can eat "whatever you want" I am going to try to be mindful of what I eat and stick to one dessert per day. I can't quit cold turkey on the processed sugars because I'm an addict!!!!

Wish me luck! Have any of you tried IF? Comment below.

If you're interested in the files I'm using, email me and I'll send them to you. No need to recreate the wheel.

XOXO

BOOK REVIEW: "I Almost Forgot About You" by Terry McMillan

While I'm not a Terry McMillan fanatic, I do usually enjoy her books. This title was hard to read and confusing from the very beginning. I understand that Georgia is on a mission to find herself but the books is long and gets boring often. Plus there are way too many characters to keep up with. I will still pick up a Terry McMillan book in the future but I do not recommend this book.

#100BlogPosts - Post # 7: MCM Jesse Williams

If you recall from my post back in 2012 Jesse Williams was way at the bottom of my celebrity boo list. He was number 11 of 12. The only person lower than him was Rick Ross (Da Bawse). Oh what a difference time makes. Jesse has moved all the way up the list to #2 (no one beats T.I. though he lost some points in these last two years but more on that later). See in the last two years I've learned a few things about Mr. Williams. First I found out he has a regular pretty (and a bit plush at times) wife Mrs. Aryn Drake-Lee.

Then I found out how very intelligent he is and his passion for the Mike Brown situation in Ferguson just did it for me. He was even out in the streets of Ferguson talking to people and hugging folks! #swoon.  He's fearless. He is a black man first and an actor second and I LOVE IT! T.I.better watch out. Jesse is coming for his spot.

Oh...and he used to be a teacher. In another life we were married...I just know it.
