Change

So the other night I was scrolling down my Instagram feed when I saw a picture of Beyonce and what some are calling her 'new style'. I personally think she looks cute and way less toned down. If you know me then you know that for years I have felt that Beyonce is Take It or Leave It. I like some of her music ( Countdown ) and on some of it I think she yells too damn much ( Ring the Alarm ). At times she seems sweet and very down to earth while at others I find  her to be almost Stepford Wife like . Either way - I'm not a stan but I'm def not a Beyonce hater. However, my feelings towards her have nothing to do with this post so ... yeah.      Anyway, a fellow follower commented something along the lines of "Stop trying to change your image, we love you just the way you are" (I scrolled and scrolled but could not relocated the direct quote. Had I known it would be a blog post topic, I would've screen shot it right then. WELP.)         Now, I do

Why So Literal Girl?!

Over the years  I have learned that  I am a very literal girl. I mean very very VERY literal. I'm so literal that sometimes I end up getting hurt. I mean emotionally and I'm sure that I miss out on opportunities simply because I can't pick up on clues. I am going to share with you guys a very very embarrassing example of how literal/simple minded I am. Okay - in high school there was this fellow classmate whom I'd known since 7th grade but had not thought much about. I mean I knew he existed, how couldn't I - lots of girls thought he was cute and I guess he fairly popular (light skin was in then) - especially compared to me who was extremely --------GASP ------ shy. True story. Anyway lets fast forward. Now, before  I finish telling this, let me tell you that  I didn't (still don't) have much 'dating' experience. Whew, okay now that that's out of the way, let me tell you suddenly this guy started coming to my locker everyday and asking to

Woe Is Me...

I'm sitting at work, well after quitting time thinking about what a disaster 2012 has been. When I wrote this post at the beginning of the year I was beyond optimistic about what 2012 would mean for me. I had my goals, I laid them out for you guys and then things fell to shit. Basically. In a nut shell. I'd actually been put into a quite shitty situation a few months before that and yet I remained optimistic. I 2012 I was homeless (only a slight exaggeration here), car-less  fat, nappy headed, single , broke, depressed, moody, bitchy, thought about becoming jobless and 147% motivation-less  Hotmess.GOV (so you know it's real). My spirit was broken, thus I was broken. I can't really pinpoint what it was that made me that way.      Not knowing how I got to be so UUUUUUGGGGH on made it worse because I am a person who NEEDS to know things, with no regards to how trivial, irrelevant or like this question important to my life they may seem (Why you talking to that

12. Rick Ross Where You May Know Him From: William Leonard Roberts II was born January 28, 1976. He’s better known by his stage name Rick Ross . Ross founded the record label Maybach Music Group , on which he released his studio albums Deeper Than Rap (2009) and Teflon Don (2010). Ross was also the first artist signed to Diddy 's management company Ciroc Entertainment . In early 2012, MTV named Ross as the Hottest MC In The Game . Interesting Fact: After graduating from Carol City Senior High School , he later attended the historically black college Albany State University on a football scholarship. What I Like About Him: I agree that he needs to keep his shirt on or get a breast reduction. But c’mon son, don’t act like you wouldn’t let Ricky Ross the Boss take you out. Hell I would marry the nigga. He has that swag. I would cuddle up with a big black ninja with a beard like that ANY day. Say what you want, but don’t judge me.  11. Jesse Willi

Online Dating: Facebook?

So I've decided to online date. I use the term date very loosely because I've only been on three dates with people I've met online and both of those were over a year ago. Now, I get my fair share of  'say there shorties' from the fellas I meet in person but I do go many places too often. My life mostly consists of work, target and home. Let's explore Facebook as a dating & mating site shall we? Though Facebook is not 'advertised' as a 'dating' website, let's face it, we've all scrolled across a hottie or two in the 'People You May Know' stream and wish we had the nerve to virtually flirt. Well some of us are just that brave. I'm not. But some people are. Now I have had some success in Facebook dating in the aspect that I did connect with someone that I met on FB. The problem with FB though is that people usually happen across your profile because they know someone who knows someone who knows you. And while I wish there
